Remove exhaust manifold carbon buildup

I snagged a 1275 exhaust manifold off ebay. I'm currently working on taking the rust off, but I'm not sure about the carbon buildup.

I can get into the ports and the flange opening, but I'm concerned about the rest (between ports and flange). How can I get at this?

Take it to a machine shop and have it tanked. Cheep.
