Removal tool for plinth bezels

Does anyone know where to get the proper tool for removing the bezels used on the center plinth over the choke, heater switch/cable and air cable?

I read somewhere that British Tools had them, but I can't find it on their site.

Thanks,

Paul

Man, I didn't know they made one. I just put a piece of leather in the jaws of a pair of adjustable pliers.

The PO of my car had amongst the various nuts and bolts and sundry parts I acquired a divot tool (for golf) that seemed to do a semi-decent job of reaching those bezels. It would be better if the metal were a little stiffer and the reach were slightly longer, but it did in a pinch. Still a better tool would be just that- better.

Whoa.......great tips here!!

I like the leather in the pliers trick as well as the golf divot tool. I sure have enough of those around in all kinds of sizes that I can shape or file to the size that I need.
Eastwood Company makes a trim tool that I've wanted to get, so that link came in handy also.

Thanks,

Paul

I was always able to use a little backwards engineering. I reach behind the plenth and turn the switch body a little to loosen the nut (they are all keyed but usually can be turned a few degrees) and then I can usually turn the nut off by hand.
The choke cable is a little different. It has a nut on the back, and the chrome on the front is part of the cable housing, so don't try to twist it off.

I did try that and proceeded to cut my knuckles against the bracket that the switch sits next to in the dash. Now I'll try the others, but it was worth a try anyone.

Thanks,
