Removal of Gauge Pointers

Hey guys, Still no input on how to remove the pointer on my temp gauge. Tried to pull off with fingers and then a small set of needle nose pliers. No joy!!! I really applied what appeared to be a lot of pressure, but nothing happened. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can remove the pointer without destroying something.

Ray

HI Ray,I have not ever tried to remove the pointer from the temp guage but all others simply pull off. But,if the guage is buggered I would send it to Nisonger for repair before I really Knackered it up.---FWIW---Keoke /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have removed some tough needles. If it's real tough, use needle nose pliers as a lever and pop it up from under the center of the needle. Protect the edge of the gauge rim with a strip of thin wood or something flat so you don't booger up the side edge.

Yes Frank I recall you telling about pulling those needles /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif,but Ray says he has done all those things and it won't budge. So I figured it was time to let Nisongner try. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif---Keoke

My motto, if it's already broke, I can't break it any more.
So try harder, and THEN send it off.
I even replace the guts in my Lucas flasher units with $2 modern flasher guts.
