Anyone know where to hookup this switch? Positive battery post and solenoid? If so which side of solenoid? Or am I totally of base?

the solenoid has three terminals. IN from Battery / OUT to starter/ OUT to other wiring. It's a switch so, In from battery post and out to starter (the two biggeast lugs) . Also, it is a switch so it doesn't matter which get connected to which.

that's weird. I suspect then that there might not be enough current flowing through to spin the bendix gear. Try taking a big screwdriver and touching it to both terminals and see what happens. (wear gloves)

What I would probably do is not hook that remote switch directly to the starter. I know on the MGBs there is a starter relay designed to carry the higher current - I would use the remote switch to trip the relay rather than trying to actually drive the starter directly. I'm not sure about the MGAs and older. I expect the Midgets (being the same vintage more or less as the MGBs) would also have a starter relay.

On the solenoid, the white/red wire is the trigger lead from the ignition or relay. The remote switch leads connected to the large lug with the brown wires and the white/red spade connection will trigger the solenoid to power the starter.
