Had to drive to conduct a workshop in Peterborough today - about 2 hours drive. As an aside, I set up my computer (Power Point) and projector - and, five minutes before we started the power went out - until five minutes after the workshop ended - do you think God was trying to tell me something?
At any rate this route used to have some lovely old cars and especially old trucks to look at. Now, other than a cool old fire truck, pretty much all gone.
As I was driving, I suddenly remembered driving on Sunday Afternoons with my friend Walter. Walter's dad had a mid 70's malaise era LTD Wagon - There was much wrong with that era - big nasty bumpers/ not much power (though I remember power enough)/ boxes with wheels, but, I was thinking of the big electric bench front seat and how they were more like a couch than a car, particularly compared to now - now we get the support and the ergonomics but, sometimes at the price of claustrophobia. Part of this remisicing I think came from seeing a mid 80's Le Sabre the other day - same kind of interior.
I miss that vast comfort. Just sayin'
