Yup. We'd build an engine with 10 or 11 to one compression, cam it up, fuel it with 260 and GO... now they'd all sound like they have marbles rattlin' around in th' crankcase!
 
Yeah, for sure...my father worked for Sun Oil in Pennsylvania in the 60s; he was a chemical engineer, specialized in distillation. He probably could have made a creditable moonshine if he tried, but instead wasted his talents on fuels and petrochemicals. He used only Sunoco gas, and when I got a car, I did, too. Never needed the 260 grade; I used (I think) 220 or thereabouts in my Triumph TR4A.
