Relocation Question

Military keeps me moving every few years... I don't mind it mostly as each place is unique and has things that other places dont, both good and bad. Friends are made everywhere and old friends can be visited from time to time as well. Work towards a retirement plan, 10 years can go fairly quick.

I felt like it was a great experience for our kids too! They got to see new places, meet new people, learn to adapt! I was an Army Brat myself and got to live in Germany for 3 years! Back in the day, my best friend Mike (who is still a good friend to this day) and I used to hop on the train on weekends, with our pockets full of Gummie Bears, and travel by ourselves all over Germany (we were 12 years old). What fun that was!

Spent three years in Hampton myself. Stationed at Langley. Had a little rental house a couple blocks from Buckroe Beach. Very pleasant time.

Basil, boy it does get got here in the summers, was brought up in Colorado ,figured out that after thirty years the snow wasn't for me, so packed the U- Haul and kids went to Phoenix ,haven't looked back, love the winters here.

Mickey,

On second thought - would you want me as a neighbor?

Thanks to Basil, Doug, you already ARE!

Cost of living in East Tennessee is quite reasonable. We're retired with a pension and SS - so far no worries, and don't see any down the road. Of course, no matter where you are you have to watch your spending.

Keep me posted on when/if you're coming through here.

Mickey
