Can someone let me know where I put the coil when I convert to an alternator on my BT7?

There are plenty of options; I at one time had mine on the RH toe-board (LHD car) above and to the outboard side of the starter solenoid.

Currently, my MSD coil is mounted in the narrow channel on top of the RH toe-board.

The RH inner fender is another likely possibility.

As Randy indicated, it is possible to mount your coil in a number of nearby places. My initial placement was with homemade brackets on top of the Delco alternator, however, I settled upon a location that put the coil out of the main flow.

Since I had previously mounted my CD ignition (Crane) box on the passenger foot well end plate, the platform I constructed to accept the also allowed me to hide the CD and coil wiring below to make the area look a lot cleaner. I was told that the coil should be mounted vertically with wire from the top.

Although I have a 40K replacement, the original coil is still good after forty years being mounted horizontally, so I am not sure the advice is that important to follow. So far so good.
