Just watched Animal House. Reminds me of my college days. British car tie in. There is an MGA in a number of scenes.
Your college days were much wilder than mine. I don't ever recall building a pirate ship out of a Lincoln.

You mean you never tested the theory that cows can walk up stairs but not down? You never took a VW apart and reassembled it on the third floor of the library? My wife never believed I did either of them,
but at my 50th reunion, on a tour of the campus, the tour guide mentioned them. MY wife just looked at me, while I stared at a tree in the distance.

Yes, I remember that now that you mention it.
It was for some kind of parade float.

That's where I'm probably the outlier on this forum.
I was such a miserable student, I almost didn't graduate High School.
College was never in the picture with a GPA about 1.6.
I was in my 40s when I went back to school for Electron Microscopy.

You're not the only one - I graduated pretty much bottom of class in HS (only reason I even got to that point was a technicality, final exams on my last year of HS got cancelled). Took the SATs and answered a lot of the questions by coin toss, somehow flipped my way into a 1280 score which got me into a college I had no business being in. Failed out pretty spectacularly and spent the next decades in minimum wage situations.

I think the most prankish thing any of us did was to pick up a bug and turn it around in its parking spot at the dorm.

I mostly spent my time in dive bars and pool halls, truth be told.

Speaking of turning a Bug around, When I was in high school a group of guys I knew turned the band teacher' Bug sideways, in his garage. He'd left the garage door open and was not a popular guy. We all thought it was funny, he was less happy with it. Had to get a wrecker to pull it out since he couldn't turn hard enough to drive it out.

Did the same. Got to be a pretty good stick when I was drunk.
Now it's a big occasion I have anything to drink (booze) or for pain medication.

Yeah, but do you have the one Todd & Buzz drove in "Route 66"?
Another show I thought was the coolest thing on TV.
I won't watch it now and burst my bubble.
