MGB Refurbishing MGB seats

Hi all,
Does anyone know of a good online or book guide (preferably step by step) to refurbishing the front seats on a '74 GT?

I'm gonna soon embark on building a pair, replacing all the parts (except the frame!) and was wondering if anyone knew of any useful guides which could show me how to do it....

Many thanks in advance!

Manish

Victoria British offers a free booklet on how to install the interior, which does cover reupholstering the seats. Give them a call and request the booklet.

The Lindsay Porter book, Haynes Restoration Manual is also good.

Not sure that they have a 'free' booklet? I called but the customer service rep indicated that there is a booklet that comes with their interior kits and they have books for sale but that is about it.

Hi guys,

Yep, tried the VB site, but alas no free booklets...

John, someone else recommended "Improve & Modify the MGB" by Porter & Pollard - do you know of this book? If so, which do you (or anyone else!) think would be better to buy, this one or the Haynes?

Hello, Manish -

If you will e-mail me your mailing address, I believe I have a copy of VB's booklet that I can send you.

John's right, the Lindsay Porter book is a good overall book and it does have a good description of how to refurbish your seats. Try to find the first edition; it's a better book.

You'd have to look in VB's catalogue to get the name and part number for the booklet.

I just called VB and they are sending out the free booklets. I waited for the "all other calls to hold" command and asked the young lady. No problem

You must be a charmer /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Micky, if you'd be so kind, I would love to have a copy emailed to me. Thanks!

Bruce and Manish -

Just found my copy of the VB installation guide that I got with my kit. It is advertised in their catalog as free, but it's also copyrighted. I thought since it's free, I might e-mail a copy, but considering their copyright, guess I'd better not.

If you call/e-mail VB, they'll send it along. Catalog number is A-MGIK.

I just called VB and asked for the free booklet. No problem, just ask for it by the part # A-MGIK and they will send it.
