Hmmmm - any idea how to know specifically which edition is for which commission number series?

This 5th ED also lists the starter as a 25550, which is the post-TS50000 unit.
Interesting. Does it say how to check/top off the gearbox ?

Hi Randall. On p.17 it says top up "via the plug (1)" and Fig. 10 has an arrow to the plug on the side. My car has the earlier dipstick on the top of the cover.

I'll send you a scan when I get some more time.

No need, Jeff (although I wouldn't mind having a scan of the whole thing). But that pretty clearly means the 5th edition coverage starts with TS50000, since that is when the dipstick was deleted (and the later starter used). So now we have at least one dating point.

And pretty clear evidence that you and Tom should have the 4th edition. I think I've got a scan of the 4th ed at work ... if not, I'll make one next week.

Randall - thanks. If you find that 4th edition scan, please send me a copy.
