Redline tires

Looking for OE style redline tires for my TR6. About the only thing I can find are the Cokers for $178 each, which is pretty far outside my price range.

I plan on driving my car quite a bit once it's running, but I'm not terribly concerned with performance other than normal highway speeds. Just looking for a new set of tires with redlines.

Where are you guys getting yours? $200 each (after shipping) is just a little too much but this is one case where I really think the tires make the look of the car.

Thanks,
Darel

Proper "look" is good! But if you're going to drive, consider handling and safety as well as looks. Some folks like "classic" tires for their looks; others report they look good but don't handle well at all.

Just my two cents. And I'm really happy with $55 standard Kumho tires on the new wheels.

I'd appreciate more specifics on the Kumos. Size, specific name of the tire etc. I'm looking to replace my 4A Tires and was told to look at the Kumos.

A friend of mine painted the lines on his tires a few years ago. He found a special system for doing that by searching for it on google.

The kumho's are great for the money. Mic Redlines are terrible riding and handing tires. I have a couple of sets but just for show.

I replaced my old redlines with Michelin Defenders. About $112 each at Costco, plus 4 tubes from TRF at 46.50 each. Big difference in handling, slight improvement in ride (on a TR6). Good luck.

I found the tire paint pens, do they actually work? Are they durable enough to stand up to washing and scrubbing? Anyone used them?

Picture027.jpgI used a rubber paint on a Michelin whitewall 205x15(quit making last year). Here is a pic. If you're a member of the 6-pack, there are several articles and threads on this subject. The is a company up north as I recall that will put a redline on any tire you buy. Good Luck. Tim
