The fire started West of Redding,& is now into the city.
Firefighters are now evacuating people instead of fighting fires.
We lived three hours West of there,& this is heartbreaking
to see/hear.

Digging down into the CalFire report, with all the evacuations, road closures, saw something I had not seen:

Cause: Mechanical Failure of Vehicle

Yea - sounds like it started from a travel trailer tire failure.
It's also devistated areas SW of Redding.
Evacuation orders have increased.I can't imagine this happening there.

We have a very good friend whose house has burned. They are OK but don’t know much more than that right now.

Talked to a Friend (& TR6 owner) in Redding last night.
He told me that they stopped the fire from continuing into Redding,
& are now trying to contain it in the outlying areas.35% contained.
There are other fires burning in the Northern part of the state.
Highway 299,& Highway 20 are still closed,last I heard.

According to the map, fire is about one mile from the ghost town of Deadwood. Contained means firefighters around it...not 35% out. The map grows every day.
