red paint/yellow paint

I cannot find the names of the colors for the red paint for the rad fan protector (China red?) and the yellow for the fan blades. And where can I find these paints? I know this has been discussed over and over but I cannot find it in the "search".
Thanks in advance.

100 fan shrouds were painted black (as the radiator).

100-Six, 3000. The Fan shrouds were best described as gloss "chinese Red". This was brush applied over the black.

100 fan was painted a medium red, quite similar to Colorado Red. Securing bolts on most cars were painted red.

Through the early 3000 Mark I's were painted medium bright red (at least through the end of 1960), quite similar to Colorado Red.

All late 3000 Mark I,II and III fans were painted medium yellow. A reasonable approximation of this color is Plasti-Cote brand spray enamel called "Caterpillar Yellow". Securing bolts were zinc-plated and not painted.

TH, if your going to paint your fan, I'd recommend having it power coated. I did and it resists chipping. Looks brand new and shinny everyday.

Happy Healey Motoring!

Ok here's the info you need if you want to do it yourself, the right way.
Being a coatings rep. for over 20 years I have found that PPG's PC703 Carnival Red and PC 734 Signal Yellow are near exact matches to the original as applied by Healey and BMC. I matched these myself to an original unrestored '63 MK II. These colors are from the PPG Industrial High Performance Color Deck. Here comes the rub. The minimum quantity you can get in a urethane product is a gallon, way too much for these two small items. If you can find a PPG Industrial coating supplier in your area you can obtain color chips of the 2 colors I've stated, then take them to any automotive supplier who should be able to match them in a pint size 2k urethane system. You'll need a HVLP conventional cup gun run off a compressor to apply correctly.
