Yow - having seen what dishwasher soap does to Aluminum... I don't think that is a good idea. (We have some Aluminum pots that are non-stick Teflon on the inside. The outsides are deeply pitted form 15-ish years of putting them in the dishwasher. Insides are just fine!)
 
Never tried that but will confess to using mom's oven once, to heat up an MGB ring gear. :censored:

SWMBO regularly reminds me of using the gas BBQ to set the high heat paint on the exhaust manifold.
 
I wonder...
if a person took a old dishwasher
close looped the drain and fill
added a gallon of.... CRC parts cleaner..
i bet you could clean 6 maybe 8 Qjets or 10 SU Hs2's
hmmm.....
suppose it could start leaking at the seal in the first 20 minutes then start a electrical fire �� then at as a moletov cocktail..
no never mind.
