What does the red envelope, verses the blue, at the front of a post represent? Just curious. PJ

"Hot" thread - there's a legend for post icons at the bottom of each forum page that explains.

Thanks Mickey. PJ

And just to expand on that a bit - in order to qualify as a "hot" thread, a thread must have either or both of the following: 50 replies in the thread, and/or have been viewing 500 times or more.

Also, note that for both the blue and red threads, there are two types of envelopes. One is a closed envelope which means there are not posts unread by you. The other is an open envelope with papers sticking out which means there are some unread posts in that thread.

Thanks Basil, that explains a lot. Lord knows how many times I've seen those envelopes, just never took the time to find out what they were for. When everything runs smooth, I rarely venture into uncharted territory. LOL! PJ

It's the PINK envelopes you need to watch out for. :playful:
