A friend I work with lent me a DVD of 6 Red Dwarf episodes. She knows I like British comedy and said I'd get a kick out of it. I was going to post about the comedy and by coinsidence Red Dwarf was mentioned in Basil's poll thread. Any Red Dwarf fans out there?

What's going down in groove town, you crazy cat?
I Love it. Kinda miffed when our local PBS stopped showing it in favour of Keeping up Appearances, which IMHO has about as much comedic value as typhoid. Sorry PBS, nothing worth watching, I'm not donating.

I agree about "Keeping Up..."

Herself just loves it, I ~can't STAND~ it! I'm 'saturated' in two minutes or less... Rutledge may have the genius to pull off a lot of roles, but it's the character wot gets on me teats.

Red Dwarf onna third hand is BRILLIANT... besides being timeless. *sigh*

The local PBS has just started running "Rumpole" now, so I can't say: *nothing* is worth watching. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I've always been a big "Red Dwarf" fan, but my viewing too, was curtailed by all three of our local PBS stations. I had hoped to see it come back on BBC America, but so far, no joy.
I enjoyed the earlier episodes more than the later ones, prior to the introduction of Kryton.

I've always been a Rumpole fan! Great show, great actors!

funny, funny, funny, the books are funnier still, PBS cut me off!

Another RD fan here. Great show! (currry!)

I was shocked to learn that the actor who plays Kryton was a Brit! Usually, Brits do American (or Canadian, as Kryton's accent is supposed to be)accents very poorly... but this guy has it down pat!

As opposed to Americans doing Brit accents well? Dick Van Dyke, Kevin Costner... Smeg.

Another Red Dwarf fan here - let's unrumble.

Got 2 "Dead Dwarf" DVD's for Christmas from my loving wife, one of them has my favorite episode, the one where they land on Earth in Reverse mode.
I particularly like the "Bar Room Tidy" where the guy sucks the black eye off Listers face.

Sure, I've got a Red Midget. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

I was just introduced to this show this weekend while visiting a couple of friends of mine just outside of London this weekend. What a great show! Hillarious. We only got to see about 4 episodes but I'm hooked. I want to see more!

Red Dwarf.....highly amusing series. Byt the way, the guy that played Rimmer now writes for Practical Classics magazine, very much tonque-in-cheek. Knows his stuff when it comes to LBCs though.

Red Dwarf is one of my all time favs, along with the old episodes of Dr.Who. I also like "Are You Bieng Served" and for Canadian comedy ..... Red Green! All of which { save the old episodes of Dr.Who } are still on my local PBS station for now. Some find the Brittish "dry humor" a bit dull, as for myself, bieng of Brit/Scot decent, find it amusing.
