Record auction price for a Sunbeam

Didn't the sunbeam[1927?]land speed record holder go for 1.5 million pounds at sotheby's some years back?I seem to remember something way back about it.However my memory seems much better when it is only remembering a few years back.
 
I tried looking it up, but couldn't find any refernce on the internet.......one thing that I did find that I never knew before was that Campbell's "Bluebird" was a Sunbeam. He had purchased the record holder from a couple of years previous, modified it slightly and painted it blue.
 
This is from memory, but I think one of the original Sumbeam racers land-speed racers was damaged and buried on a beach. It was retrieved and restored many years later.

That was Parry Thomas's "Babs". Babs was a special - no major Sunbeam content in that one. Thomas crashed it making a LSR attempt at Pendine in Wales. He was killed and the car buried until relatively recently.
 
The 1927 Sunbeam 1000hp car is still in Britain's National Motor Museum. Perhaps it was the 1925/26 Sunbeam Tiger that was sold? I believe that one belongs to a private collector. Or maybe the sister car Tigress?
 
The V12 Sunbeam Tiger set the Land Speed Record in 1926 at 150-odd mph, driven by Segrave. Not bad for a 4 litre engine. (I'm going from memory now, being in my office, so forgive me if I'm a bit out).
The chassis of the sister car, Tigress, was owned at one time by Jenks, but I don't know what became of it. I have an idea it became the basis of a 'special' with non -original, but period, engine.
Tiger belongs to the Mallya Collection.
