What type of lubricant is recommended for the gear box on these windscreen wiper units? Mine has a steel worm (on the end of the motor shaft) and a nylon gear.
 
Go for "modern" silicone grease, Frank. Less chance of degrading the old synthetics and certainly more long lasting than petrochemical lubes.
 
Sure. Look for Mobil. I think you MAY even find it at WallyMart.
