A while back someone posted a web site to a shop that has rebuilt ribcase transmissions. Can someone post that link again?

Also try Ted Schumacher at TSI Imported Auto. If he doesn't have one he can probably point you in the right direction.

Let us know . . .

Also Bob Forsblom who took over Eric Jones' Riverside Motors. (740) 363-2203 in Delaware Ohio..ohio..ohio

Thanks guys, that helps. Quantum Mechanics was the one I was looking for. My transmission is not long for this world and I need to find a solution. I'm sure gears are worn in it, and syncros certainly are.

I'd love to fit a 5 speed conversion, but the prices are really steep. I've looked at the Ford T9 conversions and Frontline now has them with a shortened remote that apparently doesn't require carving sheet metal. Closing in on nearly $3K for the kit plus shipping is really a stretch.

Wish I had grabbed some of those Datsun gearboxes back in the days when they were just a couple hundred dollars. Hindsight is always great.

Well, for my two cents worth, you cannot go wrong with John at Quantum. He has a great reputation, is great with advice and will also provide parts to the DIYer!! I have some of his parts in my trans.!

I wish he had trany's for the 1500's

I'm going to have to do something soon. My confidence in downshifting without grinding gears is dwindling. I'd really love to uprate to a 5 speed unit. The Rivergate/Datsun conversion was what I was going to do a long time ago, but just never got to it. If any of you guys spot a good Datsun unit out of a car in the next couple of weeks let me know.
