Rebuilt shocks

Just thought I would let everyone know. Put on 4 rebuilt shocks from Peter at world wide auto.

One of the best things I have done to my car for the money.
The ride is SO much better. When taking the old fronts off, found out that the right one had about 1 inch of free play and worked up and down very easily by hand. The left one would not budge up and down. I even put it in a vice and could not move it. I guess the 1400lbs of car could make it move but my 230 could not.

On another note, a few week back there was a discussion about poly bushings. Someone mentioned Polybush in the UK. sounded good so I ordered from them. Got the package in 5 days, very nice product. Everything fit nice no problems. The invoice in the package said 69.00. I thought it would be dollars, not marked pounds. Got my charge bill today, with the exchange rate it came to $142.00. A little pricey for 12 bushings

Live and learn. watch what you buy from the UK

Suspension is one of those items that deteriorate so slowly you only know how bad the old ones were when you change them! You should find your tyres lasting longer now too if you've had all the geometry done.
As for the price... we are paying close to $9 a gallon over here now for the lowest grade fuel, so ÂŁ70 for some bushings won't really worry us... it costs me more than that to fill the BMW!!!

peter caries all the bushings also............cheap!
you dont need polys, standard bushings r fine unless u r racing or something...z

I used rubber bushings about 4 years ago (I think), and they already look pretty tired. You might consider poly for longevity.

I read this morning in the Sunday paper that in the US in April the average price of regular gas was $2.86. In the UK it was $8.37....China-$2.19 and Venezuela-$0.47

Wow, that is high. I remember when it was $4 over there and how shocked I was. Is that $9per imperial gallon? That is 25% more than our gallon at least, still would be over 7, still bad.

Its about 4 1/2 litres to the gallon over here, and fuel is currently 91p a litre. It's harsh, especially as about 85% goes straight to the gov't!
