Rebuilding TVR Vixen 2500 Rear Uprights...

I thought I bought DOM from Industrial Metal Supply, but am not seeing it on the paperwork.




Here's what I got in the paperwork for the AISI 300M Alloy:

Heat Treatment

AISI 300M alloy steel is normalized at 927°C (1700°F). It is then heated at 872°C (1600°F)
followed by oil quenching oil and tempering.

Tempering

AISI 300M alloy steel can be tempered at (600°F) to achieve 300 ksi strength.


I still need to do some research on times, but it looks like our furnace will do what we need to do.

Back to work on my project…. Took me a while to find another well equipped machine shop I can use…

Cut the keyways on the tapered shafts…
