I'm going to be rebuilding my 1300 spitfire short block at this time it's at the machine shop being checked for what size new pistons to order; i already had the head done to a stage 1 spec. by PRI and have all the other add on's waiting to be put back together my question has to do with break in lube for the motor i'm keeping the old cam it has no ware at all and the lifters are like new ; so what would be a good assembly lube to use and what about BRAD PENN OIL all ideas would help. Thanks Rick.

you can get an assembly paste at nearly any FLAPS,

Or I have used in the past a 75/25% mix of STP and whatever oil you are using in the engine, This works if the job is not going to sit for a long period of time as it will eventuallly run off/evaporate.

Well ok then thats a very grassroots way of doing it ;i did use motor honey on a chevy rebuild when i was a teenager good to see things haven't changed much thanks Steve.
