I am in the process of rebuilding my '72 GT6 carbs. I removed one of them fron the intake manifold and removed the plstic piece on it, and all the screws to the bowl. I couldn't remove the bowl, so i soaked it for two days in parts cleaner made for carborators, i still cannt break the seal between the carb and the bowl. How do I remove the bowl without destroying it, is there any tricks to doing so?

Hello Jeff,
if you are refering to the float chamber on a Zenith carburettor, ensuring all the screws are removed try tapping the chamber with the handle of a screwdriver to break the seal of the gasket.
If that is not your problem, please let me know the carburettor type and which bowl?

its a stronburg CD. the manual i have says remove some assembly, then 6 screws. The only thing on the bowl that i found is the big brass looking screw and 6 little screws that came right out. I gave the brass screw everything I had, and broke the seal completly around the bowl and the bowl will rotate about 10 degress either side of center, but wont come off. The big screw will do the same, about 10 degress or so, but nothing more. I sprayed it several times with penetrating oil with no luck. I am going to let it sit with the penetrating oil over night to see what happenes
