Rebuild fires right -up

Had to rebuild the rebuild because of a bad cam. Started up last night with the first turnover. Went with the Crane cam this go-around, not ever trying a reground cam again. Engine sounded great but with all this rain the test drive will have to wait. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

dont you just love it when a plan comes together

Excellent!
Don't forget that the cam (& lifters) is usually the *last* thing to break in after an engine rebuild.
Generally, it's a good idea to hold the engine RPM at 2000 to 2500 RPM for the first 30 minutes or so (on most pushrod engines). This will ensure good splash lubrication to the cam.

Ran it for 30 minutes last night when it started. No leaks, turned it off and set the timing, it was only off by 15 degrees (advanced) not bad for just eyeballing the dizzy in.

Cool! I can't wait to fire mine up again. Nothing like that sound!

it tis one good feeling when she go vroom vroom ...
