My BE's original rebound straps were tough as nails webbing material.
The repros I got from VB are junk.
I put the car on the lift this week and one of the straps failed just from the weight of the rear suspension.
Anyone know a source for quality rebound straps?

BTW, the copper colored material you see is cheap thread, not metal.

New ones are junk....as you have said, the weight of the axle will cause then to snap!
As long as you don't let the axle EVER hang, they will be sort of OK

I've had a pair of straps from "Strapping Lad" on my Bugeye for several years now....well worth it! As a side note, the picture of the installed strap on his website is my Bugeye! When I bought the straps he asked me for a picture of them installed. If I knew it would be on his website I'd have cleaned things up. :smile:
 
They would actually be better if the webbing was doubled for the entire length of the strap, just like the originals.
 
Yeah, I don't doubt that it is strong enough. But it doesn't look exactly correct with the single ply in the center. It wouldn't take much to make it just right. Still, no doubt better than the lousy rubber ones.
