The idea was not mine, I got it from someone on the Spridget BBS

Can someone tell me how to post a pic?
Phil

two ways.

first, resize your picture to under 100k, when you are ready to post use the "full reply screen" or hit reply or hit "quote" - in other words don't just type in the box. Then go to file manager at the bottom of the box and follow directions.

OR

use a picture hosting site like photobucket and us the "enter an image" box at the top of the text box (4th from left)

I agree Phil but would go with redundancy. The more things holding the wheel cylinder the better. The thought of one floating around on its own is scarey. Especially with the single master cylinder systems.

Really, has worked just fine for 50 years or so. Never knock experience.

I agree, Jack, but if you are going to the trouble of tapping the pin hole you might as well slip the clip on. (Snap ring, clip is a joke).
I first read of the bolt trick, I believe, somewhere on a race set up sight and it was being done for safety. If you ever did have a loose wheel cylinder it could cause all kinds of problems none of which would be fun!
I have had the same fight with the replacement E clips and am using a clip sourced from my local John Deere dealers parts bin. Much heavier and more substantial.

I approve of heaver and more substantial, very German.
