are all spitfire herald gt6 rear wheel bearings the same size ? as replacing the bearings on my 1980 spitfire and the hub wont go all the way onto the shaft and locks up the outer bearing i forced on ?
 
I no longer have any recall of spitfires. However, the Moss catalog shows only one part number for the outer bearing from 1962 to 1980.

okay thanks will investigate the driveshaft, i think the car is a bit of a bitsa sold to me as a 1500 only to find its a 1300 engine and the rear hubs are of a different design one has three lugs and one doesn't
