Hi Guys,
I was never completely happy with the location of the rear view mirror on the top of the dashboard. It blocked the right front corner of the car, which made sighting a corner more difficult. It was also hard to see out the back over the cross bow of the tonneau cover, so I came up with this alternate location. Now I can see everything.
Also notice the stud for the tonneau cover. This has a chrome-plated fender washer underneath it to prevent galling the material when tightening down the stud.
I chose to use some chrome-plated dome-head screws for the brackets holding the dashboard instead of the rusty Phillips-head screws. Not sure about your dashboards, but mine would move in and out when I operated the choke, so I installed a few more brackets behind the dash then used the dome-head screws to hold everything together. I tapped the brackets so I wouldn't need nuts.
