Received my rebuilt shocks tonight from Peter C. Hopefully tomorrow the other parts order will be sitting on the porch when I come home. If it is, then I know what I'll be doing this weekend!
 
Well my parts order didn't ship until yesterday, and won't arrive until the 9th. Kinda throws a monkey wrench into my weekend plans, but oh well. I'm working on the parts I have. I can still reinstall the front mounts, the shocks, and get the axle pads ready to go.
 
Yep, gota do what you can with what ya got. And your efforts well be better for it.
 
Parts order finally arrived last night. I was disappointed in the quality of the shackles, expecting the surfaces that slip through the bushings to be a little more polished. Are they supposed to be this way, or should I get some fine emery cloth and polish them?
 
I made a flap wheel out of a piece of shaft material with a slit in the end. I threaded a thin strip of 400 grit sand paper and used my cordless drill to polish a bit. But it probably won't hurt anything to use as is. Did you go with rubber or poly?

The rubber doesn't care too much about a little roughness. You can lube it with a bit of o-ring lube as you assemble it to make it easier.

Just wanted to give a status...it's done. Spent Saturday morning getting it together. I don't have the new photos up, but I've got the log updated of what happened during reassembly. Made the suspension a lot better. Still need to work on the front alignment.
