If you powder coat the leafs individually you might end up with a spring pack that is too thick.

I'm kinda kicking myself for not thinking of Slipplate when I redid the springs on my BE. I think that if you leave the mating surfaces rough after media blasting the slipplate would stay in the low spots and be useful for a long time.
Slipplate is really only grafite in a paint carrier. The canned stuff we always used separated badly and we used to always have it shaken before application.
After a little use on hay equipment you couldn't stand on a surface that had been painted with it unless it was perfectly level. It was that slippery.
