In trying to remove the rear springs, I have the rear shackles removed. The front bolts are stuck. I drilled a hole through the outrigger and tried to drive them out with a punch. Couldn't get them to budge. It looks like my next step will be to get between the spring and bracket with a reciprecating saw and cut the bolts. Any one have a better idea?

This is sometimes the easiest & only way to get them out.

Not what I was interested in hearing... but thanks for the heads up. I've got a pair of new springs ordered for my BJ7 that should arrive within the week. Better order some reciprocating saw blades tomorrow. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It took me 2 days. 1 day per side to carefully cut out the old front shackles for the new rear springs. whhhhhheeeee

What type of bushing will you be using? When I replaced the rear springs on my MG, I replaced them with Superflex polyurethane bushings https://www.racecar.co.uk/superflex. They come in different shore hardness and the 70 is like rubber so the ride is not sacrificed. Has anyone used polyurethane on their AH? I want to put them on mine since they last much longer and was wondering if anyone else has done so.
 
You could always start with applications of penetrating oil for a few days. Also a few cycles of heating with a torch and quelching with water soaked rag can get things broken loose.
