Rear Shock Absorber Links

Hi Guys,

I'm reinstalling the rear shock absorber on my 3000 MKI but I have a doubt. Which is the right position of rear shock absorber link? Are they fitted above the shock absorber arm or below? May you post some picture?
Thanks
Daniele

Hi Greg

my car is a 3000 MKI, are you sure that the rear shock absorber link is fitted in the same way that the BJ8 in the picture?

Have anybody other pictures?

Hello All,
I would like to jump into this question as well. I have seen photos of as many shock links installed above the axle as below. Seen a "bottom line" write-up saying below.
Would anyone care to comment?
Is above or below correct, it all fits either way? I have had it installed both ways now, and while the car isn't driveable yet, surely would like to get it right!

This is my 1960 BN7 original rear shock link. As from the factory.

Well Tim's Picture above will put you straight.--Keoke

Yes, but the shock throw won't accommodate the 'wrong' way; i.e. the shock arm would 'bottom' (and probably trash the shock, and maybe the mount).
