Rear seat belts

The following people do not need to wear safety belts:• Drivers and passengers of vehicles made before July 1966.

I Recons how this is just an attempt to help control the SS Budget.--:glee:

Hello Bill -

The combined weight of my kids when they were able to both fit in the rear seats barley exceeded 100lbs, so there was never an issue with the back seat assembly. My goal for installing the belts was more about keeping the 2 kids secure in their place while cursing at highway speeds while doing "the wave" like on a roller coaster, then believing they would help in an accident. The rear belts are mounted under the trunk armacord.

I stand corrected on Fed regs. Illinois was the requiring stat.

Great pic! Later phase 2 BJ8's came with rear seatbelt attaching points for the belt to replace the 2 nuts for the shouder belt.
