Rear radius arms

I just put new bushings in the rear radius arms and before I put them back in, I have a question. Where they attach at the rear axle there is some space between the metal spacer for the bolt and the axle, about 1/4" on either side. Now that seems like it will allow the rear axle to float around side to side a bit. Should I put some washers in there to take up the slop? Or is that slop in there for a good reason?
 
I went out to look but the rear wheel has to come off and it is too hot for that.

The manual shows no washers or spacers.

I remember none.

Your resaults may varry, but I can make up all kinds of reasons for side to side play built in. I would not worry about it.
 
There weren't any washers on mine, and they were tight with once the spacers were put in. Were the metal sleeves on the new bushings as long as the ones that came out?

Just noticed yesterday as I was working on the fuel pump. None on mine either so apparently that is stock and intended.( Low mileage that I have never had apart).
