TR4/4A Rear Main Seal Leak TR4A

I'm still trying to chase down whether I've got a RMS leak. The oil seems to come from random locations at the rear of the oil pan and I can't pinpoint it.

I believe some is from the drain plug, and even the breather tube. The clutch support bar to the oil pan is always wet.

Anyway, I'm stumped as I reset the oil pan two weeks ago and had the plug worked in as well.

Any easy clues that it's all the RMS?

(GEO I may trouble you one day again for a few minutes on Eagle lift)

Since you have 2 Triumphs I would you should have 2 real main seal leaks.

Nevertheless, you may have leaks from elsewhere that are easier to deal with. The oil pan gasket can be sealed quite well and still leak around the bolts/threads. The breather tube (I guess one has been added) gives you 2 ways to leak -- the tube itself and where it (friction) fits into the block. The drain plug can, of course, be misleading as it is a low point for anything dripping/oozing in the general area.

Oh -- sooner is better than later on using the lift as it is about to get a long-term resident.
