Rear Drum Brakes on a BE

Need some help as I believe I've screwed up!! I'm reassembling my rear drum brakes on my 59 BE. I beleive as you view the brake assembly the right side dust shield should have the fixed stop a 2 o'clock & the left side should be at 10 o'clock. I've assembled the L/S same as the R/S and my dust shield is not concentric to the axle hub??? Any pixs would be helpful as there worth a thousand words.

Not sure I'm following the description--perhaps you could post a picture of what you have. Or, check the archives; the question of rear-brake assembly has come up often, and there are quite a few pictures.

Thanks Steve,
I think I've figured it out, but I'll check the archives and post a pix of what I have.

Geeze Louise I was screwed up!!! Had a great pix/drawing of the right side rear brake assembly, but not the left side!! Assembled the left side w/o any issue. Set the drum in place to check fit and it would not center on the hub. W/O a picture of the L/S I assumed I screwed up the orientation of the dust/brake backing plate. The real issue was I did not seat the wheel cylender in the plate. That's whaht caused my brake shoes to be off center.
Lessons learned:
This ain't my MGB and it assembles diferently.
Take a closer look at the parts!
Better documentation/pics of prework.
Think before I write!!
I'll wear the dunce cap for this week but will be happy to pass it onto the next "award" winner"!!!!!!!

Just make sure the bench you sit on is long enough for all of us - we've all done one of the above at least once, enough that around here we buy our dunce caps in bulk - but we figure it out too

:jester:

Everythjng is upside-down compared to the MGB. Quite a puzzle.
