Hello all.

I'm overhauling my '85 XJ6 rear calipers. These use the dust boots with the wire clamping ring. Would greatly appreciate if anyone has a technique for installing the wire ring.
This one has me stumped.

Thanks in advance!

PS - I'm normally on the Austin Healey forum but am adapting my Healey to these Jag rear discs.

Solved this one myself: found a spray can cap which fit exactly over the boot when seated on the caliper. Stretched the clamping ring a bit to make it less strong, then slid it down over the spray can cap until seated on the boot.

These rings are round wire - seems like they'd grip better if they were square-section.
