I am in need of the right-side end of a spridget rear axle tube. I only need about a one-foot long section beginning, of course, from the hub end. I'll monitor this forum for a response but a PM would probably be best. Thanks in advance.

I have a Spridget rear axle housing I have no use for (I actually have several). I should have thrown them away years ago. If you want, I can saw off the required end from one and send it to you. Send me a PM or use my regular e-mail if you wish to discuss.
 
Michael, Rather than try to weld a broken axle housing why not swap in a complete housing and then if you have some special gearing swap it out as well. Sounds easier than trying to get alignment correct on an axle housing you need to weld back togather.

This repair is for my Elva Courier, caused by a collision between it and a granite wall at last year's running of the PVGP. You can guess which won....

Couriers use a Morris/Wolsely rear axle, similar to a spridget only about 3-4" wider, and as you can guess they are hard to come by, esp. on this side of the pond. I've had to make this repair before and by putting a steel rod in the tube and careful clamping, etc. we were successful in making the axle straight.

If I needed an axle that was about 4" wider than the Sprite one I would put in one from a Datsun 210- MUCH stronger!
