Rear axle rebound buffers

How are the rebound buffers for the rear axle (thin ones that mount to the top of the frame rails) positioned? Are they centered fore and aft, and side to side on the rail? I've got a Jule frame so must drill & tap these holes myself.

Thanks,
JPF

Look at Photo #22 in this set.

I have a jule frame also and used a lot of these. I got them at Ace Hardware and they are made of zinc coated steel in sizes from 1/4 to half inch. Getting the half inch to compress is tough. But they are holding on my front sway bar and other bits and pieces. I think the rubber pads under the axle are not under much stress so the smaller sizes will work fine.

Half my car is held together with those

Thanks for all the photos! Answered a problem I had with the pan hard rod. Seems the idiot that took the car apart installed the left bracket backwards...
