I knew about this incident, as I'm sure many have. What these pilots went through was horrific and it had to be a miracle that they survived. It's a real shame that they lost the careers they loved, but at least they were able to continue a life with their families.

I remember that! What a horrific situation, heroes for sure! The skill of the pilot while under so much stress is amazing, and how he held the aircraft together is beyond comprehension. Says quite a bit about the aircraft design also, it had to be over-stressed at times during the flight. Sorry to hear about the career endings, but their alive thank goodness! (y)
