Unassuming buildings...

But tucked inside are some pretty neat cars...an '03 Cadillac (the 3rd ever built!), an '05 Maxwell, two brass Model T's, an '05 Fuller and a few more. But the most interesting of all to me...
A '48 Mg-TC RHD...

And a '25 BSA three wheeler!

Really cool fella owns 'em. He owns a 1907 Brush that will be featured at our show this year. here's a picture of Clarence (90 years old!) and Keith Mathiowicz, managing editor of Old Cars Weekly, coming back from a spin in the Brush. Keith is holding up the tire that went flat on the right rear...Clarence drove it back (on the rim) on the grass...about one mile! He said the same thing happened to him yesterday! What a hoot!

Clarence drives all of his cars. He recently sold several cars because it was too much work to keep 'em polished and ready to drive.

What a guy...it was a joy to meet him!

Oh wow, what discipline it must take to resist all the offers he must have had for that stuff. Good for you Clarence for sticking it out. Hope to see you at the show.

Mine too! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Very cool stuff, so great that he's still enjoying them.

Is the TC for sale or does he drive it regularly?

Great story. I had the torture of having to listen to this guy at a class I took driviling on about his 65 Corvette that his parents have him for graduation (new I think) and how it only has 300 miles.. blah blah blah... and he has some mitsubishi hot rod with no miles, and won't run it hard, or let anyone else ever drive 'em....
I wanted to look him in the eye and say "What a waste. Why don't you just have a life size model made of them to stuff in your garage and sell the real ones to someone who, heaven forbid, would use them for what they were built for."
You'll never notice.
Had to get that out. Those guys drive me nuts. (or should I say ~won't~ drive me nuts)

AWESOME!!! However, when you named off the '03 Cadillac the first thing that popped into my mind was, "what's so special about an '03 Cadi?" It took me a second, but I soon realized you weren't talking about a 2003 Cadi and you were talking about a 1903 Cadi...

*Crowns himself with a Dunce hat*

My only barn find of late was deposited by a raccoon. Sorry, no pictures.

That was the FIRST question I asked..."Is it for sale?"...

Clarence told me I'll have to wait in line!

Here's a few more pix...

Clarence organizes and drives in a 400 mile tour every summer...you have to have a 1915 or earlier brass Model T to participate. They do the run over two days and don't have any modern cars for a backup...they travel with spare parts and fix 'em as they break!

Seems like he has lots of room for those cars. Must be nice.

That is some great stuff. My dad had a friend who hoarded Packards, and as a kid, I remember going to his place, and spending all day playing in those great cars. He was the same as this guy, none for sale. I remember he drove several of them. It does make me wonder what happened to them.

That Packard guy wouldn't have been in N.J. would he?

Yep...in a little town about 30 miles west of Green Bay.

He had about another dozen or so cars until last year. He sold them because he said they were too much for him to handle...having to keep 'em all running and driving each of them on a regular basis.

Oh, I want the BSA I want the BSA I want the BSA!!!!

I think i met the gentlemen you are talking about.

Lived on a large estate/farm in north Jersey. we went there to look at Jag xk120. the restoration was started bet for some reason (this was over 10 years ago, so i don't recall) he wasn't finishing it.

Pretty much had every car he ever owned, including a late 30's packer.

i only got a quick look at some of his collection, the cars that stand out were the ones you wouldn't normally collect. they looked funny in between all these great cars.

The early 50's Cadillac police car was a hoot.

I've a friend in Sarasota who collects Winton cars. He's restored several of 'em to a very high standard. Alex Winton was his gran'far.
