Speechless. Can't wait to see it mounted up! Are you going front tilt or stock?

Looks great. Access to a nice booth I see. Sweet.

Absolutely gorgeous ! And... you say that is BEFORE polish?

Thanks guys!

Buggedd: I use to have reverse tilt, but decided to change back to the stock configuration on this bonnet. I had the bonnet supports chrome plated, so need to stay the course with the stock bonnet opening. Bonnet shroud was slightly modified to clear a 16 row oil cooler in front of radiator. Everything is very close fit up front, not sure that a reverse tilt would clear cooler.

Tulsafred: This car was painted with Spies Heckers epoxy primer, build primer, base coat, and clear coat, this material is not cheep. I wanted to only apply the material once without any trash or over spray, so having a spray booth was the only option to conserve material cost and have good end results.

Dklawson: I may have posted photos of the bonnet before the paint was applied several months back. The primer was prep with 600 grit. You could literally see your reflection in the primer. After wet sanding and polish the finish will look like a black mirror.

Judging from the reflections of the lights, you did an outstanding prep job. Congratulations. Can't wait to see it finished.

Wow!

Very nice!

Ain't she a beauty! Maybe you can make the BMW Eurofest. I don't know if registration is still open.
First Cars & Coffee we can I would like to take both Frogs. Let me know when the bonnet needs
those extra hands. I can hardly believe how you have transformed and resurrected that Mk1.
Long road....big reward. Super Sprite.

Thanks Gundy, you’ve been a great cheer leader on this project!! We truly will catch a Cars & Coffee TOO! I was invited by the director of Eurofest to bring the car if its completed in time, he said he has a spot for me. It will be at the Embassy Suite on Verdae Blvd this year on the golf coures. Still lots to do but would like to make it!!

Indeed, I’ll need those careful delicate hands in installing the bonnet; Bill has said he will be their, you both make a great team!!
