Three TRs up and running within the past 30 days.
Dale, Bill and Alan. Must be a good omen for the
driving season.

Any other dead cars brought down off jack stands
and now cruisin' along the highways?

Nine tenths th' battle, laddie!!!!

I had to do a bitta surgery on the distributor tonight. You have to lock it off to allow the ECU to control the spark.

I first tried removing the weights as suggested.
Timing was all over the shop.

I then tried locking the advance with stronger springs.
Timing was all over the shop.

I ended up drilling a hole in the rotating assembly and dropping it over one of the advance lock posts. Now it's rock solid. Best of all after all that it STILL fired first turn.

That never happened on carbs. It was always a bugger to start...

All to do with the Midget, is reinstall the (DS) seat, steering wheel, tie-rods and tighten it up. Check the valves and put some gas in it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif

The B will spend another month in therapy. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cryin.gif

My herald is still stuck in place. As soon as the semester is over I am going to get it going again. For some reason, my wife is not enthusiastic about the engine in the computer room.

...it moves sooo slow when anticipating th' GOOD stuff.

All of mine are still in Winter storage(sitting in the Garages ready to go, but missing batteries). The TR6 didn't get a garage spot this year....so it's sitting in the driveway under a tarp with the battery, trucklid, and half of the interior out. But tomorrow I am going to start putting it back together and get it running.

Had the '72 Midget out a couple of weeks ago, now it's just sitting in the trailer with a full tank of gas, waiting for the appropriate weather.

My midget is still on the road. Drove him to work two days last week and every evening! Still minor stuff to do though.
