re: Spin-on oil filter adapters

does anyone have any experience with those Spin-on Oil filter adapters that replace the Canister-type oil filter assemblies in the old XK engines? The canister-type in my '65 S type is very messy and difficult to get the seal in place; For quick and easy filter changes, I would prefer a spin-on oil filter, as in my 1984 XJ-6.

But I have heard that these adapters create problems, such as oil flow is not adecuate or something like that.

I will appreciate your opinions. Ex

I adapted my E type years ago for convenience with no problems. The conversion kit for the earlier XK block is very similar to the XJ oil filter housing. The typical oil leaks at the filter seal go away.

Much easier system and well worth it.

thanks for the help, a company called classicjaguar.com (they specialize in E-types), makes a spin-on filter adaptor, doesn't look like a housing as such, looks very simple to install and I think it just screws-on to the bottom of the original 3.8 engine filter-canister housing, and they even include the first filter! I'm checking to see if it will fit my '65 S-type.
