TR2/3/3A Re-Doing TR-3 Seats

I'm doing a frame off resto on a TR3. The original car was red w/black interior. I decided to re-do the body in black, with a red interior. I sometimes think I'm crazy, because the original interior is in great shape. But, when the red interior arrived from TRF today, I knew I made the right choice. Which brings me to the seats...

What tools, such as these hog ring pliers I've heard about, am I going to need? Also, any tricks from those of you that have been through this will be appreciated. Is there any info available on the procedure??

Just one, spray some silicone on the foam before sliding on the back cover. Wayne

I recall when I did mine I pulled the old covers off and found a second set of covers underneath. Pulled those off an found a third set under those (no wonder those seats were so firm). By that time I had struck leather (or what was left of leather) and knew I was almost there.

Mine came out 'okay' but I was never completely satisfied with them. Finally paid a shop to remove and reinstall the covers and now they look great.

The rest of the interior was pretty easy to get good results but those seats gave me trouble. The good news may be that you can do them yourself and still get a pro to redo them if you aren't satisfied with your results.
