Hey all..need a quick check..
I re-installed the wiper rack last night..and it seemed to want to go above that stiffener that runs from the firewall to the edge of the cowl. Is this correct? MKII Sprite.
BTW..here are some pics of recent 'steps'..I got my Maniflow back from JetHot. I like how it looks! Lifetime warranty too.

Also finally got around to cutting/welding the shift lever for the 5-speed.
I'm thinking if I post progress...I'll have to make a little bit each week!

I like the RED. Which Red are you using?

Here is the routing on my bugeye. It's likely the same on your car.

Many thanks JJ, that's where it is on mine. I just couldn't remember.

JimG - Thanks - The shift cover is Kirker's SS urethane - "Snake Red" (Viper red I would assume).

You may find that even with the shift lever mods that the original shift cover and boot will not work. I sectioned my cover about an inch. Still looks stock and lets the shifter work.

Kurt.

Kurt - Do you have a picture of your section work? I'm assuming you added width (left to right)? What did you use for a boot with that section? It does look like the boot is stressed out in 1st and 5th..

Isn't that where an MGB Boot is sometimes used instead?

By sectioning it I meant that I cut about an inch out of the height of the cover. I cut the cover right at the flange then cut a section out and rewelded the flange. That made the cover look pretty much the same but since it wasn't as high it doesn't interfeer with the shifter as much.

Kurt.

Ah...that makes more sense..I wasn't thinking in that 3rd dimension! That is a good idea.
I hate to cut it after I just shot it with new paint! I may not have a choice though..I'll regret it later if I don't. I have some misc parts to paint yet..roll bar, sway bar,..and now shift cover!
Just when you think you can pack up the welder....it pulls you back in! :rolleyes2:

Thanks for the suggestion Kurt
