Rattler in the dash ??

Hi all,

Lately I've noticed a new noise in my 4A. Sounds like a rattle snake or spring zing type noise. Notable when under acceleration. Could it be the tach or speedo cables?? Any one have any experience with this type of noise.

Will it make the noise while reving the engine or only while driving. Have had the Tach make a rattling noise. Undo the cable and see if that does it.

Is either one rubbing against a metal dash part of a plastic vent duct? That will transmit the noise across the entire dash, even if they are somewhat quiet when standing away from everything. Kind of like a tunnel affect.
