RARE '52 Healey Abbott Drophd Coupe in Classifieds

FYI: I just put an ad in the BCF Classifieds for an EXTREMELY RARE 1952 Healey Abbott Drophead Coupe. This car is truly a piece of British automotive history.

Only 77 Healey cars were built by E.D.Abbott Ltd (Brooklands of Bond Street, Warwick, England). This is one of those 77 cars.

I ALSO just put another ad in the BCF Classifieds for a pair of rather RARE '65 Innocenti "S" Spyders. The Innocenti Spyder is the Italian "cousin" of the Austin-Healey Sprite, using the same chassis & running gear.

(I hope that they go to a good home)

"Cheers!"

Please mention the Association of Healey Owners (URL below) to the new owner of the Abbott- he will probably need help from us in restoring it and we can source most of the spares needed.

John

Thanks John!

That will be useful information for the new owner. I'll be sure to pass it on...

Q: Is that your Healey pictured in your avitar?

If so, isn't that an Abbott (drophead coupe), rather than a Tickford (enclosed)?

There should be a nameplate (usually located on the sill) that states which coach builder created the body.

"Cheers!"

Yes, it does look like an Abbott, but it is a Tickford, and when I bought it, it had roof (which is still in the garage) but I wanted a convertible, and at the time there was an Abbott and a Tickford for sale, both in need of rebuilds, both been parked since the 60s, the Abbott was ÂŁ5000 and the Tickford ÂŁ500 so I bought the Tickford and a hacksaw!!!

In phase 73 of the rebuild if I ever get that far I will (if I can work out how) make the roof into a removeable hardtop.

"Healey Tickford: ÂŁ500.00"

"Hacksaw: ÂŁ3.50"

"An afternoon of metal cutting: ÂŁ0.00"

"Getting the vintage convertible that you desired"

"PRICELESS!!"

(My latest take on the popular VISA advertisement.... Do they have the same ads in the UK??)

"Cheers!"

WARNING to all fellow eBay-ers:

I put this Healey-Abbott up on eBay to get a little more exposure.
Even opted to list it internationally, thinking I'd catch the UK, Europe, and "down-under" markets.

YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE the number of scams I've received since then!!
Many that pretend to be eBay, and even look like eBay!
FORTUNATELY I long-ago downloaded the eBay Account Guard software, so I instantly saw that the page the link took me to was BOGUS!!

:nonod: :nonono: Be careful out there! The crooks are getting more clever every day! :nonono: :nonod:

"Cheers!"
