I drive passed the Rutgers football stadium in New Brunswick, NJ all the time (on River Road, if you know the area).

Last week I saw this MGA at a house very near the stadium, as I drove by. It was never in this driveway before.
It's a 1600 Mk II according to the tail lights.

Took a quick shot but didn't stop as I was on a mission.
Today I drove by and it was gone.

There's probably a good story about it, but I guess I'll never know.....

As I think I can see the taillight plinths in the picture, it would have to be a 1600, not a Mk 2, which had the lights mounted on the central body not the fenders.

Hope someone rescues it!

Ah, you're right Bill.

I forgot the MK II has those little horizontal tail lights under the trunk lid.
This must be a regular 1600 (I used to have a 1500 with the simpler rear lights).

Anyway, I agree.....I hope it is being saved!

I prefer the 1500 style - certainly the simplest.

The 1600 with two each side looks too fussy.

The Mk 2 which used Mini lights on their sides are an acquired taste - you either like it or hate it. I've grown to like it on my Mk 2 coupe, but it took awhile.

Bill,

The 1500 style has an understated classic penache that is just very appealing to me...

I have, however, worked at acquiring a taste for the 1600 and MK II tail lights... as yet, to no avail... :smirk:

I've a couple of MGA coupes in that condition!
